Starling Physicians Connect Statewide through CTHealthLink

CTHealthLink, in partnership with the Connecticut State Medical Society (CSMS), is pleased to announce Starling Physicians has joined the newly formed, physician-led, statewide interoperable health information exchange (HIE). Starling Physicians is Connecticut’s largest, independent, multispecialty group representing more than 250 physicians and other clinicians in 30 locations across the state.

“This is a proud moment,” said Jarrod Post, MD, chief medical officer for Starling Physicians. “Partnering with CTHealthLink, across our practice and our state, drives the common goal of delivering the best possible patient care and benefits the state’s medical community.”

“Physicians are undergoing a major transformation in how they are expected to deliver care,” explained Dr. Post. “This is a unique opportunity for us to become aligned, across independent practices, groups, and health systems in Connecticut and beyond.”

Dr. Post added, “We see Starling as a beacon for independent practices. We recognize the independent practitioner has ownership and pride in their business model. Fully-sharing data through the HIE is a necessity to thrive in this new healthcare arena.”

Participation in the HIE improves care coordination by allowing connected , hospitals and other providers to share patient health information, including information from all providers and facilities from whom a patient has received care. Physicians can proactively manage their patients’ care in ways that have never been possible before.

Jeffrey Gordon, MD, chair of the CTHealthLink Advisory Committee said, “We value Starling Physicians as an HIE partner in our effort to increase patient medical information access at the point of care.”

Bryan Graven, CEO of National Physicians Services, said, “This collaborative effort to build bridges that integrate healthcare technology across Connecticut is something truly special and unique. As an affinity partner of CSMS, and working closely with CTHealthLink, we are pleased to be a part of providing technology services tailored to the growing needs of the Connecticut medical community.”
